The All-on-6 (or All-on-X) dental implant procedure is an innovative cosmetic solution for replacing missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw. This procedure involves securing a fixed bridge with six or more titanium implants, offering patients a durable and aesthetically pleasing full-arch replacement.
The All-on-6 approach is particularly suited to individuals with sufficient bone density in the jaw. At Green Lane Dental Centre, we generally advise placing more than six implants in each jaw and designing three or four smaller bridges to reconstruct the full arch. This segmented configuration enhances the aesthetic outcome, simplifies hygiene maintenance and allows easier management — if an issue arises with one implant in the future, only the affected segment requires replacement, rather than the entire bridge.
In many cases, a temporary fixed bridge can be connected to the implants on the same day; in certain instances impressions may be taken and the temporary bridge placed within 5–7 working days.
Many of our patients report that the All-on-6 approach provides a more comfortable, secure fit, as the evenly distributed pressure when biting promotes enhanced comfort and stability.

Bar Retained Implant Dentures
Bar-retained implant dentures, also known as implant-supported overdentures, are a removable prosthesis that combines the stability of dental implants with the flexibility of dentures.

3D dental imaging is a full head and neck computerised tomography (CT) scan that helps the dentist get a much clearer, more detailed view of the physiology and teeth structure. At our practice we use the latest Cone Beam 3D dental imaging technology to help diagnose our patients by taking a 3-dimensional x-ray of the head and neck.

What is Cone Beam CT (CBCT)?
Our dentists at Green Lane Dental Centre use a special type of imaging machine called a Cone Beam CT (or CBCT), which provides a 3D glimpse into the different parts of our patients’ necks and heads and offers much more information than a traditional 2-dimensional X-ray. Unlike regular X-rays, our CT scan can see the differences between many types of tissue including bone, teeth, nerves and soft tissues. During 3D dental imaging the CBCT scanner rotates around the patient’s head, obtaining up to nearly 600 distinct images, then pieces them together to view them as one continuous image.

What is a Cone Beam CT used for?
CBCT is useful in a variety of diagnostic situations, including oral surgery, implant planning, TMJ analyses, airway studies related to sleep apnea, impacted teeth, periodontal disease and endodontic anomalies. CT scans can also identify the size, extent and effects of conditions such as infections, cysts and tumours. The high-resolution 3D dental imaging allows practitioners to more accurately visualise internal anatomy, assess risk and plan treatment and surgery. Before removing impacted wisdom teeth, the dentist may order a CBCT to accurately see the roots of the tooth and ensure removal will not impact the patient’s nerves. In the case of sleep apnea, the dental cone beam CT can help determine whether a patient might have a restricted airway. For dental implants, our implant prosthodontist takes a CBCT to determine how much bone a patient has, whether their jaw can support dental implants, and which direction the implants should be placed in order to avoid any nerves.

Bone regeneration
When the jawbone needs rebuilding
Dental implants placed within the jawbone have become an increasingly popular and aesthetic way to replace missing teeth with strong, high-quality artificial teeth that look, feel and function like your own. Unfortunately, in some cases the jawbone may not be strong or substantial enough to support dental implants. When several teeth are missing, the jawbone may weaken and atrophy over time. Jawbone structure can also be negatively affected by trauma, infection, gum disease, surgery and congenital defects. Without a healthy, stable jawbone, dental implants cannot be placed securely.
What is bone grafting?
Bone grafting is an advanced, effective and safe way to promote healing and bone growth in the jaw. Because bone tissue can regenerate and grow, strategic placement of bone grafts can encourage bone growth in the space where it’s needed.
Once the graft has been placed, the bone must be allowed to heal before placing dental implants in Penge — typically 4 to 9 months.

He is so pleased with his new denture and can enjoy his rare cooked steak — not only no more food trapped under the denture, but also perfect retention, and he can hardly remove it.
Case 2 · All-on-6 with same-day fixed bridge
All-on-6 implants with immediate fixed bridge loading the same day. He used to wear a removable denture for the upper jaw, which was not comfortable, and he was looking for an option to have implants and, on the same day, get his fixed bridge. After a proper consultation, he was offered extraction of all remaining teeth in the upper jaw, 6 implants (All-on-6) and a same-day bridge. All procedures were done with local anaesthesia and a surgical guide based on his CBCT scan. This fixed bridge is temporary — he returned after 6 months, once gum healing after extraction was complete, and the final bridge was made for him.
